Full-time Staff

Jason and Anita Boucher moved to Big River Bible Camp in the summer of 2004, with no idea of how camp was run!  They moved with 3 young children and a dream to make it 5 years. God had many adventures in store for them!   Their kids have grown up at Bible camp and gone off to adventures of their own. Now they have two daughter-in-laws and two grandchildren.   Most days, the Bouchers love what they do and eat, sleep, and breathe camp.

Sara Gabrielson and I (Lucas) returned to NCEM after a 3 year absence and joined the staff at BRBC in the fall of 2018.BRBC is the 4th camp I has served at, after previously serving in various roles at Camp of the Woods (2003-2005), Timber Bay Bible Camp (2006-2009), and Pine Ridge Bible Camp (2009-2015). Sara had several years of full-time ministry experience in Canada and internationally before joining Lucas at Pine Ridge in 2010. Carleigh and Barclay were born during their time at PRBC.Lucas will primarily be working on the maintenance/site side of things, but will be open to whatever Jason throws his way. Our son Barclay has autism, and requires more attention and care than most children do. So Sara will help with a variety of things as time allows, such as registration and hospitality.

Karen Emke

In the fall of 2017, God had me come to Big River and serve at one of their events. Slowly, since then, God kept bringing me back to help with other events. In 2020, through ministry changes, God opened the door for me to come be a part of BRBC full-time. I am blessed to be able to serve God at BR and thankful for the team He has brought together. Karen also serves at the NCEM Head Office part-time.

Steve, Tara and their children came to Big River from Nepal, to continue God's work among the First Nations people. Steve is a Media Coordinator for BRBC and helps with the LITs and Tara is the camp nurse.

Caylea Selke

Caylea comes to us from Regina. She is the NCEM Social Media Coordinator, Cleaning Manager, Girls LIT Director and part of the worship team.

Kent and Sarah, along with Shale, Kaydia & Kalum, have moved to BRBC from Fort St John, BC to learn all the things about camp.

For summer 2022, Kent is the Merchandizing Manager, among other things.

Sarah is keeping the website up to date, helping with office duties, worship and dreaming about a horse program for BRBC.

Afifa Farooqi

Afifa was born in Saudi Arabia, and grew up in Toronto, Ontario. She has spent many weeks serving at Camp over the last couple of summers. This summer, she is serving at BRBC as Assistant Director and Office Manager.

Following this summer she plans to head back to Nipawin Bible College for her third year.
